Persian cats have always been regarded as rather royal and grand cats. Pedigree Persian cats are large in body structure and have powerful legs and punched faces with stocky bodies. These cats seem to be a magnet for warmth for those fond of cats and sometimes even for those who are not.
The Persian cats are again categorized into sub families because they are likely to have certain differences in their features. If you look minutely you will not only discover that the color of their coats is different but there are other differences too. When it comes to Chinchilla breed it has certain individual characteristics that separate them from the rest.
The Persian cats were beginning to be exported to USA in’08 when the Chinchilla Cats Club was founded. If you have to identify and value whether a cat is a Pedigree Chinchilla cat or not and differentiate it from others, you have to examine its coat as that is the only means by which you will be able to make out the difference. The color of the body hair has variations which would show the difference. A pure breed black coated Chinchilla will have only1/7 of its body hair as black.
In general a Chinchilla Persian cat has an undercoat of pure white and the fur on the back, head, tail and flanks is tipped black that gives off a characteristic of a shining silver coat. The legs of these cats can at times be slightly sprinkled with black tips whereas the chin, ear tuffs, chest and stomach are always pure white.
A most attractive feature that you will see in these cats are their black rimmed eyes which tend to give an expression of wearing eye makeup on them. You will also find that their nose and lips are outlined in black.
The tips of the cats coat are not always black as it is apparent from Silver Shaded cats. You can see incredible variety of colors ranging from blue to lilac to chocolate. The Silver Shaded has more shadowing in their coats when you compare them to Chinchilla. It is a pleasure to imagine the wonderful outcome of these colors on the coat.
There are some cats which have variety of colors in their underlying coat which is completely wonderful and a treat for the eyes and they are appropriately called Golden Shaded. Also there is a breed called Cameo Persian with few red tips on their coat.
All these cats are known for their beautiful dark rimmed eyes, nose and mouth, except for the Golden shaded whose eyes and nose is outlined in brown in place of black. The eye color of these cats is mainly supposed to be green or blue-green. This established characteristic in all Chinchilla, Golden Shaded, Silver Shaded and Cameo Persian cats helps to distinguish the pedigree because a pure-bred cats eye color will be either green or blue-green.
